Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a japanese champleve enamel vase, of spherical shape, with small footrim and narrow opening, ornately decorated with flowers and butterflies. The colourful traditional floral design of the chrysanthemum flower and butterflies is quite common, but the vase in your possession already shows the bold design of the art deco era. Production date should be first quarter 20th century. The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.

THANK YOU FOR THE SPEEDY RESPONSE BUT I STILL HAVE A QUESTION
IS IT cloisonne OR enamel ?
THANKS

Champlevé is an enamelling technique slightly different to cloisonne. By carving or casting or etching etc. cells into the surface of a metal object you obtain similar cells as the wire cells of the cloisonne technique. The cells are then filled with vitreous enamel, fired and polished. So the answer is: it is enamel but done in the Champleve technique.
