Two photographs, one of the Sphinx with a pyramid in the background, and one of a group of young merchants, carefully posed in front of their wares. Both signed on the negative by J. B. Sebah, though I do not know how to date them. The photos are on delicate, thin paper, not at all like modern photo stock.
Roughly 8 inches by 11 inches.
I am an appraiser at the Friends of the Library in Ithaca, New York. The photos were donated to us anonymously: we often get valuable and unusual items, as Ithaca is home to two institutions of higher learning, one of them, Cornell University, being an Ivy League school.
