This is a ring I bought for myself about 50 years ago and have worn it with pride over the years. It is a 8k Gold Smokey Oval Quartz Cocktail Ring, Size 6.
I have been the only owner of the ring.

It is a beautiful ring. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
I do understand why you are happy about the ring. It is very beautiful and has a classic and elegant design leaving the large smokey topaz to attract the attention. However the fact that is it 10 kt gold that was used instead of 14 kt gold gives away the date to the late 1960s when jewellery was made with 10 kt gold in order to keep the prices down and to compete with bijouterie. It is still a nice piece and despite the signs of wear and use I believe that this ring would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the ring has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the gold ring with a smokey topas. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Your item will be presented for several auction houses, but they tend only to be interested in items worth more than $1000. I would recommend eBay for these kinds of items because of the extended amount of buyers on the platform.
