Description

This was inherited over 25 years ago and I really don't remember a thing about the details. I think it's chippendale? Maybe?

What does this mean?

Dear Chris,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images from the downside of the table and the link between the legs and the plate. I need these details for an exact dating.

With kind regards,
Georg

Okay, thank you. I don't really understand what you mean by plate, sorry, but I'll take a couple pics and get them to you. Thank you! :)

Hi Georg, I've been attempting to upload an additional pic but it won't upload right now so ill try again in a bit. Thank you

Dear Chris,

I need some detail images from the downside to see the technical details for the dating. That is the difference between furniture done in its time and period furniture. The technical details change but the stylistic details try to be the same.

With best regards,
Georg

Hi George,
Here are better pics of the underside. Please let me know if this is where you needed more info. I'm not sure what the plate is that you mentioned, hopefully it is. Thank you.

Dear Chris,

Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The apprised object is a table made out of mahogany in the last third of the 19th century or early 20th century. Pie crust tables were developed in the 18th century for serving tea or coffee. They are decorated with a round top trimmed with a raised, scalloped edge that looks like the crimped rim of a pie crust. This piece was made as a period-furniture.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 250 to 500 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With best regards,
Georg
