Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A vintage Renaissance Revival style mahogany or walnut table-top Canterbury bookshelf late 19th/early 20th Century Of rectangular section with ogee ends and relief-carved molded edge, affixed at each end with hinged folding supports with stipple- and acanthus-relief carved ends and open handles, which fold flat but when raised can support books. The underside with some graphite or crayon marks, otherwise appears to be unsigned. (height?), 23 inches long, 9 inches wide CONDITION: Appears to be in good condition with a high gloss finish. PROVENANCE: inherited $125-175* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
