42 piece autographed silver tableware ~21kg weight
Great grandfather received it from Iranian ambassador
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a very impressive and extensive Iranian/Persian silver set you have sent photos of.
The do not recognise the silver marks but I will take your word for it being silver, and also it looks like silver from the photographs. The quality of silver from Persia is usually quite good so I presume the fineness is somewhere around 900.
It was probably made in the 19th century and must have been in the possession of a wealthy family - the Iranian ambassador as you stated. And it was possibly originally made as a wedding gift.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised silver auction, where I believe the silver set has the best chance of realising its fullest potential.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
With all due respect, this is less than what it's worth as raw silver (21 kilograms = 10500~ dollars) please revise your answer
