What does this mean?

Unfortunately also not an original Chinese Kangxi period vase ( Period1661-1722 ) but a later copy. These are sometimes made to deceive people including ''salt water wear''. value is purely decorative.

This item is authentic honestly smells of the sea it was covered when I got it and if you do your homework town scenes are quite rare ,it has all the characteristics for the European market, maybe you appraisers should be less cynical.

Dear Fiona,
I do not want to be cynical. I agree painting is very good done and in line of what you expect. Bottom is the real concern here. The small rim beside the stand seems to be to soft. These rims were cut with a knife. Yours is round. I must say 9 out 10 vases with these type of debris are false but if you really thing I do not look well enough I want to ask you to send additional pictures of the stand in daylight. Its hard to see the skin underneath the debris so I might be wrong with my valuation. I had no doubts at first but I must say, looking again, I might be to quick on this one.

Apologies for that. If you can send the pictures I will take a second look at it.

Regards,

Simon Breider

There is no stand you were looking at the underside of the lid.thanks,

I have two pictures. One with the vase from above and one with a bottom with an artemisia leaf mark. I do not received a picture of the inside of the lid. I wish I had.

Oops missed one

S.k. breider Apr 03, 04:54 UTC

If you have an inside lid picture that would surely help.

Fiona isaacs Apr 03, 05:06 UTC

I will send 2 pictures of lid one top and one base

Thanks done

I'm very sorry to inform you that I didn't change my mind. Form of vase, inside of lid and also painting are of. Painting is done well but its too stiff to convulsive. Form of vase is not 17th / 18th. Its odd. I have too much doubts to say to you its a genuine piece. I'm sorry I could not be of more assistance.

Regards,

Simon Breider
