Description

..Rare piece of military history! This camel saddle was used by one of Napoleon's infantrymen from Dromedary Regiment during Napoleon's Egyptian campaigns (1798-1801). It was specifically designed to fit the dromedary camel, also known as the Arabian camel. Each saddle was custom made allowing two soldiers to fit securely on the back of the animal. Beautifully hand crafted with brass, wood, & reinforced iron. It is in STUNNING condition with lovely touches of patina and an excellent example of early craftsmanship. No cracks or breaks in the saddle, just amazing history.
