Face approx 1 3/4 in. diameter. Modern style numbers, not roman numerals. Outside the usual 1 thru 12 numbers are a smaller set of red numbers, 5, 10, 15, etc. Smaller dial for seconds where the "6" would be. Inside of exterior back cover engraved w/ what looks like it might be a stylized Waltham insignia and the numbers 303342. My guess is this is nothing more than the case number & not the watch number. Winding mechanism is at 12:00 position w/ a gold protective ring around it. Back cover has a French style marquee design at the base but nothing engraved in it. Watch does not operate, but I suspect it's nothing more than a broken stem. Total weight is 4.2 ounces. Would be interesting to know watch value, but more interested in finding a repair facility for this elderly lady.
Watch belonged to my paternal grandfather. It was a retirement present on his last day as Massachusetts State Treasurer, probably somewhere around 1954. It was an inheritance to me from his estate and has run perfectly until recently.
