What does this mean?

Good evening, Michael,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you confirm if there are any marks on the shade or on the underside of the base that might indicate the maker?

Thanks!
Delia

Hello Delia. I looked over every square inch of this lamp and I do not see any artist name or anything. I Will upload a few more pictures.

Good morning, Michael,
Thank you so much for the additional photographs. I do not think this is a lamp from the Middle East, but rather one done in England or Europe during the end of the 19th Century, when the "Orientalist" aesthetic was very much in vogue. I say this because I have expertise with objects from Turkey, Damascus, Morocco and Egypt and the decorative motifs lack the full expression of the Near and Middle Eastern aesthetics but are an imitation of them. Which is not to say it does not have value...there were several firms - Herter Brothers, Tiffany, Lockwood DeForest, etc, that were producing "Orientalist" designs that bring considerable money on the market, with even unattributed items (such as yours) still being sought after by collectors.

Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is;

An Aethestic Movement Engraved and Champleve Brass Floor lamp, in the Orientalist style
with pierced domed shade
68 inches high, shade 22 inches wide
