The bowl is about 4 1/2" wide with 3 1/2" tall. I believe it is ceramic. It has flowers on the lid of the bowl that may be hand carved and painted on or stamped on flowers on the bottom portion of the bowl. At the bottom side of the bowl it says "Made in Italy-MBD 7/100".

My mother gave it to me. My mother just turned 99 years old. She gave this bowl to me over 10 years ago. I believe she has had it for over 30 years.
