What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a set of Cauldon China plates, imported by the Chicago based importer of porcelain Burley & Co. which was in business from 1884 to approx. 1917. The plates in your possession are mostly transfer printed with only additional hand painting, e.g. the outlines of the bouquet of flowers is printed, the colours are added by hand, either in Great Britain or by a workshop in Chicago. Similar plates have been offered or sold at auction. The estimate is based on auction results. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
