This was inherited from my father. It is very heavy metal with patina. (brass?) Very unique. Snails at base, with a bird nest and 2 baby birds being eyed by a rat above. Had three tulip (one missing) type light or candle holder. My Dad said it was an old gas lamp. Yet I don't see where it would have gas fed in. Unless the marble like base was an after thought
