What does this mean?

Hi Betty,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The mark looks like and 18th Century mark but isn't, and the signature doesn't match any of the decorators on record for the 18th Century, further reinforcing that this is a 19th Century piece.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A Sevres style hand-painted and parcel gilt cobalt glazed footed covered vase.
French, 19th Century
Vasiform shape and circular section with a domed cover (lid), the body with a large decorative panel depicting figures in a landscape and signed lower right "Chenily", all on a cobalt-glazed ground with gilt accents, on a flaring foot on a square bronze socle.
46 cm overall height, base 11 by 11 cm square
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: inherited
$500-800*

It's GREAT to see a photo of the mark underneath. The signature I was referring to is within the painted scene with figures - lower right edge near the gold border.

Thank you so much for your help! Will it be listed for sale? I'm not sure how that works.
