Its a almost solid backed photo in a Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Daguerreotype Case.

It has been in my father's possession for almost 20 years. He got it from his now ex wife who inherited it from her late sister. The case says it was patented in october 1856 & April 1857, so we are hopeful it is in fact a real photograph of Billy the Kid.
