This is a Nonpareil banjo with mother of pearl body. Nonpareil instruments (banjos, ukuleles, tenor guitars) were distributed by Perlberg and Halpin of New York from 1926 until the 1940s.

Here are some sales records and asking prices to give you an idea of the market. I was not able to find more than a few for nonpareil so I also looked at 1930s banjos generally. I am basing my valuation on these. Please let me know if I can assist further

Nonpareil banjo, Unsold, Est. $110-$160

Nonpareil banjo, Unsold, asking $475

Sold for $200, 1920s Nonpareil mandolin
