What does this mean?

Good morning, Lael,

Thank you for using Mearto for your appraisal inquiry. This appears to be a late 19th/early 20th Century Continental rocking horse. If there are any labels or stamps that would identify the maker please let me know as that might make a difference in value. Also, dimensions (overall height, length from nose to tail and also length of gliders) would be a good thing to include in this appraisal, so please forward those to me at your convenience and I'll update the appraisal so it's complete.

Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

A Late Victorian carved and painted wooden Glider Rocking Horse
Continental, late 19th or early 20th Century
With leather saddle
Gliders are 36 inches in length; Nose to tail the horse is 27 inches in length; Height from floor to saddle is 23 1/2 inches; Height from floor to head (tallest point) is 31 1/2 inches
CONDITION: Not examined in person. Original realistic paint decoration worn or stripped away, now with a later yellowed surface or sizing visible. Retains original horsehair tail and leather saddle, which has some losses, including one stirrup.
$ 100-200*
*Represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.

Hello Delia,

Thank you for your questions. I can not find a mark easily visible, can you give me some guidance about where I should start looking?

As for the dimensions:

Gliders are 36 inches in length
Nose to tail the horse is 27 inches in length
Height from floor to saddle is 23 1/2 inches
Height from floor to head (tallest point) is 31 1/2 inches

Thanks, Lael, for the dimensions, which I've now entered into the appraisal.
The marks will be very discrete - underside of the horses body, inside the gliders, etc. are where they are typically found. Let me know if you find anything!
