Hello, I have a number of African masks and swords. Please see details and photos below. I do not have provenance on any of these items, I inherited them from my father when he passed away and I do not know where he got them from. Two swords and one arrow. The sword on the left is from the Salampasu or Tetela people from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It measures 20 inches long and 3 inches wide at its widest point. Metal, wood, and leather. The sword in the middle is from the Poto people, also from the DRC. It measures 25 inches long and 4 inches at its widest point. Metal and wood. The arrow is likely from the Congo basin or West Africa. It measures 22.5 inches long. Metal and wood. Mask with extended lips and white rimmed eyes. Wooden. 10.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches at widest point. Mask with pointed hair/headpiece. Wooden. 16 inches tall and 9 inches at widest point. Mask with braids. Wooden with fiber braids. 16 inches long including braids, 9 inches long without. 6 inches at widest point. Mask with grooved forehead. Wooden. 12.5 inches tall, 7.5 inches at widest point. Eyeless mask. Wooden. 5 inches tall, 3.25 at widest point. Mask with shell headpiece. Wooden with shells. 10 inches tall, 7 inches at widest point.
My father owned these items for about 20 years before his death in 2019.
