Of circular section, the woven basket with wrapped rim and blue and red decoration, unmarked.

Is it possible it is African? I had someone recently mention that it may be African.

yes, it could be. I've changed the description to "tribal" and expanded the area of origin. Certainly made for the export market and, to be honest, it has a more decorative value so not too important where it was made. You're all set.
