Dear David, Thank you for your help and patience. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal. The presented object appears to be a painted wooden sculpture with measurements of 12 x 11 inches. The crucifix shows the dead Christ just dressed with his loincloth. During the medieval age, it was common to show Christ living fixed at the cross. The drapery of the legs and arms and the facial features are a hint that this wooden sculpture was probably made in Southern Germany or in neighboring regions in the 16th or 17th century even in the 18th century by a regional artist. it was made out of linden wood and painted. Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in bad condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided. A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 600 USD. This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary. With kind regards,
George
