Made of paper, this is a glossy egg that opens into 2 halves. It is 4 inches tall x 3 inches wide. No tears inside or out, but creases from wear. The inside of the base has "Container made in Western Germany" printed and a handwritten 40.
Not sure of exact date, but my dad had it when he was a child, and he was born in 1933.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Germany formally divided in 1949 (and reuinited in 1990) so anything marked "West Germany" was made during the 40 years when it was a separate country.
