Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A pair of vintage Japanese hand-painted and enamel baluster vases pattern #2748, bearing the cherry blossom mark of the Hotta Yu Shoten and Co., made in Japan, circa 1920-1930s each of baluster form, with orange-glazed ground, cylindrical neck, shaped black-glazed handles, the body decorated with houses in a landscape. Marked underneath. 5 inches tall CONDITION: both appear to be in good condition; value assumes no chips, breaks, repairs or losses. PROVENANCE: inherited $150-200 for the pair* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
