Teddy Bear owned by my mother in late 1920/1930s.

I have no idea who made them. The condition is "played with" but still pretty good shape. I also don't know what they are made up. They are stiff and not very chubby. Two of them have poseable limbs and head - the third does not.

Hi Diane, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. This is a sweet bear that shows it's been a well-loved - and playful companion - in your family for nearly 100 years. There are a good number of similar bears on the market and collectors can be picky when it comes to condition so this is an instance where the "market value" of this bear falls (far) short of its "sentimental value" to you and your family. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique blond mohair teddy bear Possibly made by Chad Valley, England, circa 1920s-30s With allover blond mohair fur, glass eyes, sewn nose and mouth, felt pads, probably with fleece or wood shavings that has hardened with age. 18-19 inches high CONDITION: in well-loved and much-played condition with losses to fur and some areas where the seams have been restitched. PROVENANCE: inherited $ 75-125* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto. ~ Delia
