Hello Susan, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, used materials and the design, I concluded that this is a Golden Coloured Metal Ring with and Eye Shaped central design and a Light Blue Coloured valuable stone as the center stone. This stone was identified as Sapphire by the customer but it's authenticity requires a GIA report to be proved. The composition is modestly decorated and is similar to the style of the 1930-1950 period. The piece likely dates back to this period as well. The eye shape was heavily used in rings starting from the Roman times due to it's allegorical meaning. It is largely believed that this eye which is always open would watch for you the surroundings and scare away the bad luck. Considering the period, the piece might be gold but since there is no writings on it the authenticity requires metal tests to be proved. The proportions of the piece is quite well and it's metal work was executed very succesfully. The piece is in good condition with small signes of use and age. Possibly Gold Ring. Dimensions: Unknown Condition: The piece is in good condition with small signes of use and age. Provenance: Given by a family member to the current owner 70 years ago. 300-350$.
