Unauthenticated Fossil; Edmontosaurus Foot Bones Origin: North America, Western States Unknown age; possibly Campanian Stage (83.6 million to 72.1 million years ago ) The general shape and appearance of an Edmontosaurus foot- section fossil. Appears to have a matrix of mostly coarse-grained quartz and feldspars. A possible animal fossil; however; this shaping can also occur in geologic concretions or chert nodules found in stone deposits. An in-person evaluation will assist in identifying age and if the specimen is geologic or biologic in development. Approximately 10 in. x 6 in in size with a weight of 11 pounds. No apparent repair or reconstruction to the specimen. If an in-person evaluation does confirm that this item does have fossil content; and dependent on the age of the specimen and animal identified- a higher valuation could reach $600.00 or greater. “The Fossil Forum” is open to research and asking questions on fossils. While posing a question on the form is open to all responses; many are well researched and provide additional peer reviewed articles.
