I inherited approx 72 piece silverware set from my great- grandmother. Every family holiday she would take it out and polish it. Earliest one I remember is 1960 or so. Would just love to know more about it! We love our 3-tine forks ;)

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. It is a beautiful flatware set. Such flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis. The flatware is not made of silver but silver coloured metal. It is very decorative and the decoration is typical of the first half of the 20th century. The original case is a very nice feature and increases the value of the flatware set however as it is not silver the estimate is in the lower region. The estimate provided is for a well-advertised online auction, where I believe the flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the flatware. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help. Thank you
