Silk Turkish Rug

This is a silk Turkish rug purchased by my mother in Istanbul in the late 70's or early 80's. The rug is in excellent condition; however, I do not have the original bill of sale so I don't know the name of the salon where it was purchased or the maker of the rug.

Hello Chris, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal. Based on the images and available information, this item is: A Hand Knotted Persian Contemporary Tabriz Rug. The piece dates back to the period of 1970s. This was likely wrongly attributed or sold as a Turkish piece. The piece was knotted wool on cotton and has the classical modern Tabriz production leather stripes on it's back to prevent the rug from sliding on the floor. Visible colors, as in style of Tabriz rugs. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems. Please don’t hesitate to reach us again for more online appraisals on your precious items, thank you for choosing Mearto.
