Hello Anne, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, glass quality and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Blown Murano Glass Stallion. The piece dates back to the year 1999, 14th of December. The piece was produced by the Vetreria Murano Arte, a known company and atelier in Murano Island. The piece was characterized mostly with a single colour, black. The piece's mane is enhanced by use of golden particules. The stallion is depicted in a rearing moment, and is quite very imposing. The piece's tail, mane and ears are made in a more transparent tone of black, a very dark and transparent grey to be specific. The piece is hand blown by the master Giorgio Giuman of Murano. Giuman is known for his animal figures, and it is possible to find some other famously produced animal sculptures by him sold at auctions. The piece was purchased for the equivalent of 2.737 Euro's at the time corresponding to 5.300 Italian Liret. The current owner is the first owner of the piece and the stallion was commisioned by her. The face and the mouth area of the piece is executed in high precision and quality, which is one of the most important feature of high-end pieces in this category. It is a high quality, authentic Murano piece. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems. Entirely hand blown Murano Glass.
