Hi Karen, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Regrettably, the market for 19th Century rocking chairs is quite soft, and has been that way for a while. This is an instance where it probably has more sentimental value than market value but I thought it best to be honest about what it's worth. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: An antique late Victorian or Renaissance Revival carved walnut platform rocking armchair American, circa 1870-1880 The arched crest with incised decoration over a tall back flanked by low open arms, the trapezoidal seat with rounded front, all raised on a molded frame on platform rockers, on casters. Upholstered in a later pink patterned fabric. 38 1/2 inches tall, 19 1/2 inches wide, 27 inches deep CONDITION: appears to be in good condition. Reupholstered PROVENANCE: inherted $75-125* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
