What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

It is a lovely and very charming teddy bear. Vintage soft toys are being offered at auction on a regular basis however the quality and rarety varies.

Thank you for the additional photos and information. As you state your teddy bear is a Columbia teddybear called The Laughing Roosewelt teddy. It is mechanical so when you press the tummy the mouth opens and teeth are revealed. This particular teddy model was first made in 1907, and is characterized by the open/close mouth with teeth, the long thin limbs and the fairly long body.
Your teddy appears to be in very good condition with only minor signs of wear and usage, this is very important to potential buyers. It is a rare teddy bear that is not seen at auction often so I believe that it would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.

The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the teddy has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the charming Roosewelt laughing teddy bear. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you

Hi, I did add pics but there are no tags or markings on him. I was told he is a Roosevelt laughing bear. These were made by the Columbia Teddy Bear company in Brooklyn in the early 1900’s.
He was owned by a little girl that was born in the 30’s. She died and he was packed away for 30 years.

Hi and thank you so much for the appraisal!
I would really like to sell him at auction if I would be able to. He’s a great bear but does not hold any sentimental value for me.
Would you be able to help me sell him?

Again, thank you sooooo much!
Lynette

I clicked the maybe box, any way to change that now?

Lynette konya Sep 16, 17:57 UTC

I just figured out and changed my answer to “sell”
Is there anything else I need to do?

Will I be told if he is placed up for auction?

Sabrina vinther Sep 16, 18:31 UTC

You will be contacted by an auction house if they believe they have clients and buyers for your teddy.
I wish you the best of luck.
Kind regards

Hi again,
I am kind of confused. I did receive an offer from Nick Cline at an auction house to list my bear. I emailed them back and said I was interested but have not heard anything else from them?
Any suggestions?
