This rug was purchased on facebook and I was told is was machine made. It is in the center and black on the outside, with hunters shooting wild animals on horseback. It is a beautiful rug. I have some pictures but I don't see a place to upload them. I know nothing about it's history and can't find a ID tag. However, after a recent housefire I looked more closely and wonder if it is hand made and what it might be worth. Sadly the rug is dirty, as we have been told not to vaccum the soot off it. I want to know its value to see its worth restoring. If you could take a look at it and (Please forgive its poor state, I really don't know what else to do) and let us know what any next steps might be. Thank you

Hello Cheila Marie , I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is a Machine Made Persian Tabriz Style Rug. The inspiration for this piece comes from the classical Persian Tabriz pieces with hunting scenes. The piece likely dates back to the period from 1980 to 2000. The piece is classically structured with multiple horse riding men figures which were depicted as chasing deers, lions and leopards. The borders of the piece are also decorated with various animals and flowers. The general pattern of the piece is largely floral in decoration. Since the piece is machine made, there is no artistic or collectible value attached to it but this is only a decorative piece. The piece appears to be dirty, due to the lack of cleaning. It does not worth to spend extra expenses for the restoration work. The piece appears to be in fair condition with signes of age and use. Machine Made. Dimensions: 9 Feet by 11 Feet Condition: The piece appears to be in fair condition with signes of age and use. Provenance: The piece was bought in facebook marketplace, rediscovered and wanted to be reevaluated by the current owner. Heavily decorated by traditional Tabriz Hunting Scene patterns. 20-50$. Please don’t hesitate to reach us again for more online appraisals on your precious items, thank you for choosing Mearto.
