Hello Wendy, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, motifs and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Painted Chinese Porcelain Bowl, dating back to the period between 1980-2000. Although this piece might be inspired from some Ming Dynasty piece it is fairly quite new. When we observe the piece we can easily detect the unstable colours that changes tone in just one motif or border. Back in the mensioned Ming Dynsty piece would have a quite stable colour alongsideprecision. The piece lack a serious precision, some motifs are constructed without any details and some are uncomplete in sense of visual connection. Shapes and colours aren rendered poorly on floral parts especially. On the outer decoration the artists depicted childre carrying vases that are full of flowers alongside some traditional Chinese seals. On the inner decoration of the bowl we encounter a sealife depiction, a fish on the center is surrounded by flowers, some of the flowers were drawn like actual underwater plants but most are not. Lines of both decorations are poorly drawn and you can see that this was a mass produced piece made by using the least possible time. But these are considered average for the period and this piece is quite decorative although it doesn't have antique value. In very good condition without faults. Entirely hand painted.
