Dear Beth,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the marks. In particular the one with the number 90 as I believe that is the mark for the flatware being silver.
Thanks
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful flatware set. Such silver flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
To my count there are 34 pieces all together. The markings on the handle 90 tells me that it is 900/1000 pure silver. The flatware pattern is slightly oldfashioned to the taste today however it is a good thing that there are both forks, knives and spoons in the flatware set. This is important to the estimate as a potential buyer tends to pay more for flatware sets which are 'ready to use' meaning that there are both forks, knives and spoons in the set.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the flatware set. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Actually we already had an appt scheduled with a silver/golf buyer and we sold it for $462. Since your estimate took so long it does me no good now. I would like a refund.
Sure - they all have the same thing on them except the knives which say 90/18. Hope that helps!
