What does this mean?

Hi Megan,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Lacking the third piece of a triptych diminishes the value considerably. If you had all three, the triptych would have been worth $100-150.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Peter Kitchell (Born 1950)
"Human Limit," 1985
lithograph on paper
one signed, dated and titled in pencil lower left
each framed 39 1/2 by 32 inches
CONDITION: lacking third of three-part work
$50-75 for both together*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
