Hello Rafif, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Small Persian Hamadan Rug. The piece dates abck to the period from 1950 to 1970. The piece is centrally decorated with a central medallion, the central medallion is styled as Caucasian Axe medallion which was internally florally decorated. The pattern is floral both in the central area and on the borders. The piece has a well designed pattern and not an industrialized mass produced pattern of Hamadan Rugs. The piece's central area was decorated on a red base while the borders were decorated on an ivory coloured base. The knot density of the piece is classical for a villager rug and this piece can be categorised as one easily. The piece is knotted wool on cotton. The dyes used to colour the piece are not naturel dyes but still has a good quality and tone. The piece's borders were decorated with cloves and continuous floral motifs. The piece is in good condition with signes of use and age. Entirely hand knotted. Dimensions: 75 Centimeters by 112 Centimeters Condition: The piece is in good condition with signes of use and age. Provenance: The current owner's uncle used to have a shop in Iraq where he wass selling rugs, his shop closed so the remaining items were available. Heavily decorated by Hamadani patterns. 100-200$.
