Hello Adam, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, knot density and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Knotted Persian Tabriz Rug. The piece likely dates back to the period from 1970-1990. The motifs and the anti-slide leather on the edges are classic to contemporary Tabriz pieces. The piece is centrally decorated, which means it has a central medallion. The central medallion is also florally decorated as the rest of the rug. The medallion was characterized by a very lavish yellow colour on it's inner decoration. On the borders we can also see classical Persian style flowers with a little modern interpretation. The piece's central area was decorated on a white base while the borders were decorated on a dark salmon colour. Through the border, especially on the corner, we can see modern stylized motifs of roses. There is florally heart shaped lanterns hanging from both sides of the central medallion. The piece also has four semi-medallions on sides with black decorative circular motifs. The piece is knotted wool on cotton, the knot density of the piece is quite high as usual to contemporary Tabriz pieces. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems. Entirely hand knotted. Dimensions: 115 Inches by 78 Inches Condition: The piece is in good condition without any visible problems.
