Kerman is a South Central city from Iran. It has been a large carpet production center starting from the 15th century. The use of asymmetrical knot is advanced and reached it's pinnacle in Kerman. Your piece is also knotted with asymmetrical knot also referred as the Persian Knot. The piece has a very professionally designed colour palette and this is a very important feature of Kerman Rugs which seperate them from tribal or semi-tribal rugs of Iran. The central decoration of your piece is not very assertive, instead blends in with the rest of the floral pattern. Yet we should classify this piece as a centrally decorated rug.
