30 x 60 inches. Watercolor. On canvas. Examples of his own paintings are the last authentic examples of "literati art" from China. Several expatriates practiced the style after the Communist revolution, but he was the last to die of those who practiced it, and the style was not permitted immediately after the revolution. Subsequent generations had no one to pass the style onto, and so it died out with the few expatriates practicing abroad, like Wang.

Hello Jea, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, fabric used and the style as well as the seal, I concluded that this is a Chinese Water Colour Painting on Silk Mateiral painted by Chang-Chieh Wang. The piece depicts a natural, floral scene with Partridges looking for food in the center of the composition. This piece is actually not made by the C. C. Wang you've suggested, the C. C. Wang's full name was Chi-Cien Wang and he was a known collector and artist, your information about him is correct b your painting was not done by him. Firstly, your painting is not in the "Literati" style, which C. C. Wang represented. Secondly, this piece's style is quite different from his works both with it's design and it's painting practice. Also he didn't have a title as a professor based on our database. He was based in New York and your piece was clearly done by the collabration of the artist which was also a partner of the studio. In this case, C. C. Wang didn't have any sort of collabrations lie this. Your piece was painted by Professor Chang Chieh Wang, a Chinese painter. He used a modest decoration which covers approximately 60% of the silk materials area. The style is typical to the period of 1960-1980, the piece also dates to this period, likely 1977-1978. On the composition we can see multicoloured flowers, likely rose patterns growing behind the rocks. It was sealed on the lower right corner. The piece is framed by a wooden frame and has a label stating that it was an "Original Brush Painting by W and L Art Studio". The piece was purchased in 1978. The piece is in very good condition without any visible faults. Entirely hand painted on Silk.
