This is a village scene probably from Germany or the Alsace region (France). It is signed “Franke” on the lower left edge. Sight 34”h x 29 1/2”w. It is housed in a gold leaf frame, and it appears to be in good condition overall. Sadly, very little has been written and published about his career as an artist, but his work is often offered at auction.
