Hello William, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, printing quality and the composition, I concluded that this is a Japanese Woodblock Print by the famous and world renowned printing artist known as Toyokuni III, also known as Utagawa Kunisada. This actually seems like a fragment of the whole print since normally there should be censor marks and seals. The piece is floral and depicting a noble woman in a sorf of garde of roses. On the back of the piece we can detect a sort of guarantee certificate or certificate of authenticity which confirms the origin of the piece. The piece was made in Kunisada's lifetime therefore the back of the piece says 1786-1864 for the period. But it was likely done between 1840-1860 period. Was made on Mlberry paper. Wood Frame.
