Hello Jessica, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, wood type and the quality, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Carved Native African Statue made of Hardwood. The piece dates back to period from 1960 to 1990. The piece depicts two male figures, on the left we can see the figure of an elderly man with usual African Native Wood Art features an facial expressions. On the right we can see a boy depicted as riding an undersized elephant figure, carved with detail. Although the piece was produced within touristic quality, we can observe that it’s quality was the top the spectrum. The elderly male figure stands on a long base reaching out like a tree branch till the top of the piece. The piece is in good condition without any visible significant problem. Entirely hand made. Dimensions: 27 Inches High, 8 Inches Wide and 5 Inches Deep. Condition: The piece is in good condition without any visible significant problem. Provenance: Purchased overseas, inherited. 200-250$.
