Hello Eugene, Thank you for sending in this men’s wristwatch to mearto.com for an appraisal. TITLE: Gent’s 14k yellow gold, manually wound, anti-magnetic, Incabloc shock proofing, dress wristwatch with hand stitched black alligator strap and gold Omega tang buckle, S/N not available, Model D6672, Caliber 620, made by Omega, Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1965-1970. DESCRIPTION; Case: 33 mm in diameter with straight lugs with laminated faceted sides widening each lug to wear it joins the hand-stitched black alligator strap with Omega gold tang buckle. The fluted gold crown has the horseshoe logo on it. There is a round fixed polished and slightly canted, 14k gold dial bezel. The back cover has a convex bump in the place where the winder connects to the movement and is created so that it snaps into place and has an opening where the back cover can be popped open. The pan shaped back cover with interior round pan just snaps into place. There is a case number on the back cover, not legible to me. Looking at it from the sides the watch is quite thin or ultra slim. Dial: Round white silvered dial with applied gold and onyx baton hour indices. Two batons sit at the twelve. Black onyx is added to the batons at the quarter hours (this was done close to the 1970 era). There are thin steel baton hands, Omega enameled in the upper dial with a gold horseshoe above. Movement: NOT SHOWN - My best guess is that this movement is one of the 600 series of watches which all began to be made in 1963 and into the 1070s, the Calibre 620. The Calibre 650 was the last of the manually wound 600 series and had no sweep seconds hand, the same is true of the caliber 620 which was a bigger version of the 650 (may have been a ladies watch movement). The calibre 623 was only made from 1974-1979, a bit later than your example. The 620 was made with 17 jewels, was adjusted to 2 positions and used Incabloc shock proofing, and this calibre was made from 1960-1973. CONDITION: Case - Moderate scratches throughout the gold casing. Condition is good Dial – Some wear to the non-onyxed gilt batons. Overall, in very good condition as long as it has not been repainted. Movement: Not shown or mentioned by the client, so I will have to make the extraordinary assumption that this movement, not evaluated, is original to this case, genuinely made for this watch and is functional. The strap will add slightly to the value and I would place your example into the fair market value range of $475-$550. Retail price would be about twice that amount.
