The drawing depicts a young woman which stands in front of stairs with houses in the background. This scene is highly probable placed in an Italian city or village or perhaps in Rome. Arguments for is the costume of the woman and the architecture. The drawing is monographed with A v W and dated 1875. This drawing was made by the Prussian artist Anton Alexander VON WERNER (1843-1915). Works by this artist were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
