Hello Marilyn, I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal, Considering the photographs, overall pattern, mark and the colours, I concluded that this is a Japanese Noritake Dinner Set Made in the period between 1940-1970. This mark underneath your piece is a very common mark of Noritake porcelain which was first registered in 1933. 1933 onwards, this became the main mark used in export pieces till 1970's. throughout the mid-century these pieces dominated the American market as wedding gifts by parents or wedding wares purchased by the couple. Most of the patterns was designed in New York at some point in the mid-century. As most of the Noritake pieces from this period, your piece adapts a floral pattern with some giltwork around the edges as weel as the handles of various pieces. If you are saying that this is a full set, it must reach around 60 pieces for dinnerware. These dinners sets are usually designed for 12 people. They also usually have a matching tea set which increases the numbers of the pieces in a full set to around 80-100. Unlike earlier pieces, these export wares does not have any hand made details or enhancements. Still very collectable with the ivory colour and the red borders. Printed in a floral pattern. Pieces: Full Set. Condition: In very good condition without faults. Provenance: From the owner's mother's cabinet. Heavily decorated by floral patterns. 300-400$.
