The piece dates back to the period from 1940 to 1960. The piece is simply decorated as according to the mentioned period and the Navajo weaving style of the time. Navajo pieces strated adopting oriental kilim models from the late 19th century. This piece also took it's inspiration from the stripped Oushak kilims likely. The piece's edge borders were decorated with geometrical Oriental motifs which adds up like puzzle pieces. The colour and motif transformations are native to the Navajo weavings. The piece also lacks fringes, also traditional to Navajo weavings. The stripes on the piece are characterized by the colours of orange, red, black, blue and beige.
