What does this mean?

Hello Lauri,

I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,

Considering the photographs, overall pattern, glass quality and the colours, I concluded that this is a Entirely Hand Blown and Hand Painted Murano Glass Kiddush Cup. The piece dates back to the period from 1980 to 2000. Kiddush Cup is a actually a Sacred Wine Cup, The Wine Cup is an important Jewish symbol. "Kiddush" means "sanctification" of the Shabbat or holiday. The Kiddush Cup is filled with wine and lifted to symbolize "remembering the Sabbath to sanctify it.". The piece might likely be purchased from the "David'S Dhop" in Venice. The piece ismoslty hand painted with gold accents excluding some parts like the lion figures and the Star of David. There are many pieces available in the market which shows the same appearance, most of them does not have a gilded base. This feature contributes to the piece's decoration and it's value. The rim of the piece is also gilded, on the backside of the piece we can see a "Hanukkah Menorah". Hanukkah menorah is a nine-branched candelabrum lit during the eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. But in the piece we see a seven branched candelabrum which represent seven lamps allude to the branches of human knowledge, represented by the six lamps inclined inwards towards, and symbolically guided by, the light of God represented by the central lamp. The piece's upper body was chaarcterized by a intense blue colour of glass. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems.
