Hi Robert, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Without marks, it's hard to be 100% positive in the attribution but the style of this aligns with other late 19th Century pottery / ceramic religious figures that were made during the Gothic revival. The elongated proportions are very similar to those from the Burgundy region of France, or Western Germany Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A Gothic revival style polychrome and parcel gilt ceramic Madonna & Child Continental, possibly Burgundian, probably 19th Century The standing figure of the Madonna wearing crown and polychromed and parcel gilt robes, holding a haloed Christ child in her right arms, pointed shoes, all on a square plinth base. Apparently unmarked. 32 inches tall CONDITION: appears to be in good condition PROVENANCE: inherited $500-800* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
