M.I. Hummel Figurine "Ride Into Christmas" Mold #396/I, TMK 4, (1971)

This Hummel figurine is in outstanding condition. I am the original owner. I purchased it in West Berlin, Germany in 1985 from a military exchange. I displayed it in a curio cabinet for a short time and it spent the remaining decades in its original box. I have others in my collection that I will consider selling for the right price.

Hi Karen, Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Hummel figures were incredibly popular among collectors in the 1950s-1990s and there are a lot of them on the market, unfortunately with less demand than supply so it is quite rare for individual pieces to be worth more than $5-50 each, at auction. The value can occasionally be boosted if the piece retains its original factory packaging. Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is: A vintage MI Hummel hand-painted porcelain "Ride Into Christmas" collectible figurine Model # 396, made by W. Goebel, West Germany, bearing the underglaze blue "TMK-6" or "Missing Bee" backstamp in use from 1979 to 1990. Depicting a young boy on a sled, holding a present in front of him, a Christmas tree in his backpack, on an oval base impressed "MI Hummel" and marked below. 5 3/4 inches tall. CONDITION: appears to be in excellent condition; retains original packaging PROVENANCE: purchased in Germany in 1985 $50-75* *represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary. Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
