2'x4'x5" Bavarian stone weighing around 400 pounds. One side is of lincoln one is of Washington. It was done by kurz and allision.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a broken Solnhofen shist stone with the images of Lincoln and Washington on the surfaces. The stone is part of the printing process and usually regarded to be a tool to accomplish the print and artwork. A broken stone is bad luck and that´s about it. But: Kurz and Allison lithographic prints are being collected and anything with a Washington image is accepted Americana. If you could add a liberty bell type short story to it, it would dramatically enhance the value. The estimate is based on similar printing stones by well known artists offered or sold at auction.
