What does this mean?

This is a vintage, mid 20th century raised blanket chest in mahogany with cedar lining by the Lane Company from Altavista, Virginia. The Lane Company was established in 1912 and throughout the 20th century, until its closing in 2001, a cedar lined Lane chest was a staple in American homes. This chest is made in a Queen Anne Revival style and raised on pad foot cabriole form legs, the in-house style inventory number from Lane is 02616-3. The serial number indicates this was manufactured on April 18, 1951. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
